Important news from Dirhu: GlassFish v2 RC7 is tonight and Only Release Stopper Bugs to be Considered! Other fixes will go into the next release: GlassFish v2 UR. So far still on schedule for a release on the 17th. Kind of our own Groundhog Day.... we will find out! Added: Now working on RC8; target date is unchanged. |
May I make a suggestion? Personally I find the suffix versioning scheme (e.g., UR) to be confusing as it is not apparent (at least to me) which version is the last official version. Instead of releasing a version as "Glassfish V2 UR", how about using a more common "major.minor" numbering scheme (e.g., Glassfish V2.1)?

The topic has come up a number of times in the last two years and it is probably time to nail down naming.
If we were to adopt a numbering system, we probably should use something like 2.0.1 for this release, since it would only have bug fixes and we would want to reserve 2.1 for the next feature-full version in the v2 branch.
