TestNG or JUnit?
  Posted by pelegri in General

Button for Quality Portal

Project GlassFish has chosen TestNG for our tests. Several alternatives were considered, including JUnit. Some of the discussion can be read at the Quality Mailing List and here is Comparison Document which some have found useful.

Check the The Quality Portal for more details.

Comments:

Fancy document, btw. In a summary, JUnit vs. TestNG - 5 to 4 and recommendation is TestNG. Why bother to compare if biased to TestNG?...

Hi Eugene. You are referring to the thread, right? I'm afraid the thread only captured a portion of the actual discussion and the rest happened within hallways. This is acknowledged as a *process bug* but it was hard to fix it in the rush to makng the JavaOne deadline. JavaOne is over - we will fix this.

Regarding JUnit and TestNG, I'll send a ping to the technical leads and point them to you. Probably the best is to explain the arguments in more detail at the quality mailing list.
