This got me thinking ...
According to various sources (1,2), Chinese (a language family) is spoken by 1.3 billion people, Spanish by 390-500 million and English by 380-508 million - depending on who you believe. Either way, that's a reasonable chunk of the population.
Another source claims that the top 4 languages used on the Internet are English (311 million), Chinese (132 million), Japanese (86 million) and Spanish (63 million).
