A quick report on today's Special Webinars: we decided to postpone the Portuguese version for the week of March 1st (next week is Carnival and we can't compete with it), but the Japanese and the Chinese webinars went very well. We had 144 viewers for the Japanese webinar, with a maximum of 44 attendees at a given time, while the Chinese max was 26 but the total of viewers was 153. Plenty of questions and online chatting, and we all decided we will do it again. I still need to schedule my spanish presentation... :-(

Tomorrow (Tuesday, US) we will have special webinars on the GlassFish Portfolio in Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese. The times and presenters are: • Portuguese - Marcelo & Mauricio - Tue, Feb 17th, 10:00am PT / 3pm Brazil • Japanese - Terada-san & Kohsuke - Tue, Feb 17th, 5:30pm PT / 10:30am Tokyo • Chinese - Judy & Jiandong - Tue, Feb 17th, 7:30pm PT / Wed 11:30 am Beijing 1-1.5 hrs, hopefully with plenty of Q&A. I will also host a presentation in Spanish; should be next week but I've not yet arranged the date and time. Let us know if you are interested in other languages and we will try to find a native speaker to present.

The GlassFish User FAQ, an always evolving source of information for GlassFish users, is now available in Japanese courtesy of Tomonori Shioda. This FAQ is a wiki, so please feel free to enhance the English or the Japanese versions!

Work on the Developer FAQ (for people developing GlassFish) is also underway.

Following the footsteps of previous versions, GlassFish v2ur1 (first released in December 2007) now support seven languages: Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, French, German and Spanish. Some of the web content is also localized. As always community help and feedback is welcome. Ming has more details here. Downloads are available from the GlassFish or Sun Application Server download pages.

Ming has announced the availability of GlassFish v2 in 7 languages:

There is now a translation of the GlassFish community page into japanese (see FishEye Putback). Thanks to Ogino, Yuta and everybody that helped! We have several localization efforts ongoing; others include TheAquarium ([ja], [ru], [es], [zh]) and the Java EE Download pages ([ja]). Still, if feels to me we can do better about using the energy of the community; perhaps we can brainstorm about this during JavaOne?
