Need an easier way to create new JSF components? Have a look at the JSF Templating project. |
In his recent article at TheServerSide.COM, Ken provides a nice introduction to the project. As he describes, JSF Templating simplifies component creation using "a template-based Renderer to declaratively define the output of the component."
See the article and related discussion thread to learn more.

JSFTemplating is a JSF page and renderer framework which was used to enhance the GlassFish admin console (now present in the current v2 beta builds). GlassFish Champion Jason Lee who's been an active JSFTemplating developer and an active IRC member has just announced support for Facelets templates. Facelets is a technology that allows you to keep using HTML authoring tools while still using the JSF framework (it does not rely on JSP). You are encouraged to look at the online demo and provide your feedback |

What do you get when you take the GlassFish AppServer, JSF Templating and add Ken's skills? An RC Helicopter! Congrats to Ken on winning BT's Web21C's contest. His kid is going to be happy... and maybe he will even try it out :-). Check the story at Ken's Blog! |

Ken's JSF Templating project provides a framework for JSF pages and for JSF renderers (overview slides). JSF templating is used in the new GlassFish v2 Admin GUI together with the new Woodstock components and were the topic of a recent User Experience Presentation. DynaFaces work nicely within JSF Templating to describe AJAX applications quickly and Ken recently wrote about a small Sample App using this approach. Ken's blog uses font colors well to explain the different pieces in a JSF Template. Check it out! |
