Sampling JavaFX

The Janitor is predicting a peak in JavaFX activity in the next few weeks with the upcoming release of JavaFX 1.0, but in the meantime, experimentation with the JavaFX SDK Preview continues apace !

Kilkenny's been writing a JavaFX applet that uses the Google Web Toolkit with the help of the GWT Applet Integration library.

Perhaps inspired by both the podcast on JavaFX support in NetBeans by David Strupl (with a promised in depth follow up), and by Ken Russell's Applets Reloaded tech talk on JDK 6 Update 10, Cameo has a good day writing his first JavaFX Applet.

And although the Preview SDK isn't supported on Linux (yet), Nelson Silva's up and running with JavaFX on Ubuntu. Just the latest to run JavaFX on Linux.
