As this site(blogs.sun.com) is world-wide, English may be good for the official language. But I suppose my main audiences are Japanese people, so I've been keeping Japanese translation with it too.On this attempt, I write in English first. Because of my limited capability of English, it is sometimes awful pain for me to translate Japanese text to English. Translating English to Japanese is rather easier for me. But it has another problem. Reading the Japanese sentenses I have written here, I notice these are really translated sentenses, in other words, it does not seem fluent native Japanese. I wonder Japanese readers are satisfied with such Japanese expressions...
June 18th, it's a heavy day for me that the Open Printing Japan meeting at Sun's office in the morning, and moved to Sendai. It's important not just joining the OADG seminar mentioned in this blog on June 9th, but also joining TLUC(Tohoku Linux Users Community) meeting, it's very important. There were about 40 attendees at the seminar, and 12 participants in the TLUC meeting.
The OOo speaker, Hirano-san is from Ichinoseki, and Takahashi-san of TLUC is from Koromogawa. Both of the city and the village are next to each other in Iwate prefecture, but they met for the first time. There were lots of local topics which other guys could not really understand, but this kind of encounters is good to enhance community activities and networks. It is reportedly that this kind of face-to-face meeting has not been held in Tohoku for a while. So we discussed about the possibility to have next seminar meeting in Tohoku-area in October by TLUC and ja.OOo jointly.

このblogs.sun.comは、世界全体を対象としているので、オフィシャル言語としては英語がよいのでしょう。しかし、日本人に読んでもらうことを考えると、日本語訳も付ける方が良いだろうと思っています。
この際に、先に英語で書いています。と言うのも、私の英語の能力の方が限られているので、先に日本語を書いて訳すとなるとけっこう面倒なのです。英語を日本語にする方が多少はマシと言うものです。とは言え、これまでに書いた日本語の部分を読んでみると、いかにも翻訳調だなあ、トホホ、と思う次第です。こんな日本語でよいのでしょうか・・・
6月18日は午前中にサンのオフィスでOpen PrintingのJapan meetingを行い、それから仙台へ移動するというなかなか多忙な一日でした。6月9日の日記でお知らせしたOADGセミナーに出るだけでなく、TLUC(東北Linuxユーザーズ・コミュニティ)のミーティング（宴会）に出ると言う重要使命がありました。セミナーには40人ほどの参加者があり（地方セミナーとしては盛況）、TLUCの宴会には12人ほどの参加者がありました。
OpenOffice.orgに関して発表した平野さんは一ノ関在住で、TLUCの高橋さんは衣川在住ということで、岩手県の隣り合わせの市と村に住んでいながら、ここで初めて出会った次第。おかげで他の人にはよく分からないローカルな話題も飛び交っていたようですが、こういう出会いがコミュニティ活動やネットワークを広げていく上では重要だと思います。東北地方で、今回のような宴会は久しぶりだったそうで、10月あたりにTLUCと日本OpenOffice.orgユーザ会合同でセミナーをまた企画することになりました。
