2005年 6月 28日 火曜日 JXTA Town Hall Meeting(June 26)
After the NetBeans Day session, I felt cold, so I returned to my hotel room and got a jacket, then went to Howard 500(San Francisco Office of Sun Microsystems). Jxta Town Hall Meeting was held here. I arrived around 7pm. It seems Sun engineers summarized Jxta development updates first. And after a break with drink and pizza, members of Jxta community started talking about their activities and deriverables. I could not remember whole presentations, but there were Collanos(collabolation on Jxta), Proximio (Social Networking Service from Greece), Daniel Brookshier(Author of "JXTA: Java P2P Programming"), JxtaNetMap, milowski.com and so on. Attendees were about 30, but it ended near 11pm. This was another hot and excited meeting.
As you see in this picture, we opened sparkling wines and did "Kanpai" in the end. And I heard other Sun guy said "Yeah, Jxta guys are drinking..." to his cellular phone, when I left the office.

NetBeans Dayのセッションの後、寒かったので、ホテルの部屋に上着を取りに 戻りました（よくあることですが、こっちの部屋は空調がんがんで寒いのです）。 そして、ハワード通り500のサン・マイクロシステムズのサン・フランシスコ・ オフィスへ向かいました。Jxta Town Hall Meetingが行われていました。7時 過ぎに着いたのですが、サンのエンジニアがJxta開発のアップデートを行って いるところでした。そしてドリンクとピザの休憩の後で、Jxtaコミュニティに よる活動報告が行われました。すべてを覚えていませんが、Collanosと言う Jxtaベースのコラボレーションツール、ProximioというJxtaベースのギリシャ の人が作ったソーシャル・ネットワーキング・サービス、Daniel Brookshier さんはJXTA: Java P2P Programmingの著者で、それ以外にもJxtaNetMapや milowski.comなどいろいろありました。参加者は30名程度でしたが、11時近く に終わるという、こちらも熱く盛り上がったミーティングでした
写真にあるように、最後にスパークリング・ワインを開けて乾杯しました。 オフィスを出るときに、他のサンの社員が「Jxtaの連中は酒飲んでるよ」と 携帯電話に向かって話しているのを聞きました。

NetBeans Day(June 26)
Install Festa in Akihabara ended, and the next day, I moved to San Francisco. There was another festa here :-)
Picture 1: San Francisco Festival, though I had to go to NetBeans Day, so I had no chance to see the parade. Just saw many heads of people :-)
Picture 2: NetBeans Day, another festa. It seems almost 500 people were there. I'm not sure exact number, but the enthusiastic atomosphere was so hot! I was so much impressed.

秋葉原のインストールフェスタが終わった翌日、サン・フランシスコに移動しました。 ここでも別のフェスタが行われていました :-)
Picture 1: サン・フランシスコのフェスティバル。とは言え、NetBeans Dayに 行かねばならなかったので、パレードを見ることはできませんでした。単に多くの 人々の頭だけ見えました :-)
Picture 2: NetBeans Day、これも別のお祭り騒ぎですね。約500人は集まっていた でしょうか、正確な数字は分かりませんが、熱狂的な雰囲気はほんとに熱い！ とても凄い熱気でした。

Japan: Solaris 10 Install Festa in Akihabara(June 25) follow up
Masuzuki-san and Ohsone-san have already reported details on the Solaris 10 Install Festa in Akihabara. I'd like to add some pictures and my impressions here.
Picture 1: The front area of Akihabara station has been changed a lot, it's not the old Akihabara I knew... and I don't understand what they are doing here, sorry.
Picture 2: Someone brought his Xeon-dual motherboard. He bought AC supply and HD drive somewhere near the venue, and just installed Solaris on the bare motherboard. This is the craziest system at the festa, I think. And this is Akihabara-style.

増月さんや 大曽根さんが既にSolaris 10 Install Festa in 秋葉原の詳細を報告していますが、 私も写真と感想を少々追加します。
Picture 1: 秋葉原駅前もずいぶん変わったもので、私の知っている古い秋葉原とは違います・・・ で、この人たちが何をやっているのか分かりませんでした、すみません
Picture 2: Xeon-dualのマザーボードを持ち込んだ方が居ました。AC電源とハードディスクを 近所の店で購入して、Solarisをこのむき出しのマザーボードにインストールしました。 これが今回の中ではサイコーにクレージーなシステムでしょう。これが秋葉原ならではと 言うものです。
