On writing tools
James has an excellent post on the pitfalls of writing tools - I couldn't agree with him more. The temptation to spend hours and hours working on extra features some of which may be completely pointless (Feetch Feetch!) can be too much sometimes, I've been there before. Back to the axe sharpening...
