Tuesday May 16, 2006 Java: Hot and Spicy for GNU/Linux
Today is such a huge day... It's the culmination of months of work on relicensing Java for Linux and OpenSolaris distributions.
I've been quiet for a long time as this has literally consumed every waking moment for the past several weeks. I look foward to blogging soon about my keen interest on the intersection of Law and Technology.
In the meantime allow me to quickly thank Jeroen van Wolffelaar (Debian), Barry Hawkins (Debian), Matthias Klose (Ubuntu), Jürgen Kreileder (Blackdown), and David Herron (Sun) for an awesome and intense feat of community collaboration... Culminating the the release of Java packages for Debian GNU/Linux and Ubuntu at
DebConf 6: Hot and Spicy....

Thanks also, of course, to Simon Phipps for tremendous
leadership in moving Sun towards genuine Free/Libre
future.
