OpenSolaris afternoon
On November 27th first event organized as a part of Campus Ambassadors program activities in collaboration with Department of Computer Science and engineering (big thanks to them, mainly to Mr. Safarik and Mr. Brada) was held at the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, Czech Republic.
Also, this OS afternoon was 22nd meeeting of Czech OpenSolaris user group. Speakers came from Sun's Prague centre and they gave speeches on following:
- Introduction to OpenSolaris (Tomas Heran)
- SMF (Tomas Heran)
- Introduction to OpenSolaris kernel (Jakub Jermar)
- Zones and DTrace (Alexandr Nedvedicky)
- ZFS (Zdenek Kotala)
Thank you to all speakers and also to Mr. Rovensky, who helped me organize this event.
We had about 25 attendants, both university students and IT professionals. Our event took 5 hours and we all really took use of them - attendants had really good questions and also knew correct answers to speaker questions and so we gave out few T-shirts
There are other events being prepared, watch http://www.kiv.zcu.cz/psosug to be informed (site's in Czech only now, but I am working on it)
And now - some photos (please excuse their quality, I shoot these with my cell phone's camera)
