At JavaOne
The JavaOne Conference has not disappointed. The keynote showed a huge range of companies utlizing Java for mission critical applications. It was a little sad to see Scott McNealy as Chairman for his last JavaOne, but there is no question that the Java technology is thriving. Larry Ellison was very excited about the opportunity to help the huge number of developers make more money with hteir Java skills.
Most of the sessions are Java deep dives. Lots of attention to JavaFX. One of the lab sessions I'll be playing was on Zembly which I will play with when I get a little time. The ability to create mashups without a lot of techichal know how should make this very popoular.
Sun loaded up the conference with Sun Ray 270's so that everyone could have easy access to updates via their conference badge. Anywhere in the conference halls you can pull your session back up with your card, quickly and securely. I'm sending out my blog update via the 270 right now.
