Billing has undergone a sea-change in India - right from malls sporting hi-tech electronic gadgets to the grocery store next door. I am referring to the "bills" or "receipts" your shopkeeper gives when you buy stuff from his shop. What used to be no more than a few numbers scribbled on a little good-for-nothing paper has transformed to a neat, computerized receipt complete with barcode!

Seen in the picture is a copy of what used to be called a "bill" till a few years ago and it's computerized avatar from an upmarket grocery store.
