I know there are so many good reports about the 9th STC India conference held in Goa. Here is mine!

For starters, STC stands for Society for Technical Communication. If you are connected to the field of technical communication and in India last week, you should have been in Goa. The annual conference of STC India happened there, and it was such a pleasure to be part of all the fun. The conference in Goa was different from earlier conferences. This conference provided a good mix of fun and work. This is expected given that Goa is a high ranking international tourist destination and a fun place to be in.

The highlights of the 3-day event included several great presentations and panel discussions. The high point was the cruise on river Mandovi. The conference attendees had great fun with dance floor and dinner on board. I clicked a few pictures. I plan to provide more links to pictures taken by others who attended the conference as soon as they become available.

Sun Microsystems was one of the sponsors for this conference. There were three presentations from Sun:

  1. Demystifying Localization - S. Ravi Kumar
  2. Collaborative content development through communities - Shripad Patki & Peter Fernandez
  3. The truth about blogging - Manjula Kandula

These sessions were attended well and also churned a lot of questions from the audience.

The conference provided ample opportunities to network with fellow technical communicators

Did I miss the fun and Goan music?
