Wireless Power

Monday Jun 11, 2007

A recent news here and here claims the thing of the future: transmit power without wires. Seeing this, I remembered my worry when I saw the iMac G5 promo for the first time. It had all peripherals connected to the main cabinet without wires except, for the power chord which was dangling from behind.

A simple idea of resonance.. turned into a big invention.

Wireless Power transmission experiments have come a long way. Companies like http://www.splashpower.com already provides means to power up portable devices.

Oh I see, but the latest discovery is based on resonance coupling and it has advantages like there is no physical contact between the power source and the power consumer device. -V
