I conducted last tech demo at UTS on DTrace and ZFS.
21 students and a staff member attended the demo. It was really
good. For the first time I got such a good response to the demo.
I combined the demos of DTrace and ZFS and it lasts for around 1 hour.
I give away some TShirts and Sun Developer Network DVDs.

I conducted 2 tech demos on Sun SPOT and OpenSolaris. 10 students and a professor attended it. There were some of the questions like "Why Sun is pushing Solaris towards Desktop computers?" and "What is the range of Sun SPOT? What frequency it operates on? etc." It was easy to answer. Andrew who is the Snr. Accounts Manager at Sun Australia explained some of the business aspects of those questions and Solaris.

The JavaFX Script language also referred as JavaFX is a declarative and statically typed scripting language. It is easier way to create content-rich applications. It is the way to implement GUI applications declaratively rather then procedurally coding everything. There are plugins available for most of the major IDE's like NetBeans and Eclipse. Though there is no drag and drop facility available for JavaFX in any IDEs yet it is surprisingly and fairly simple to hand code the GUI. If you are not using any IDE then you can use the JavaFX Pad to code the JavaFX application. Those who are familiar with Swing and Java 2D find it more easier to learn.

You can find some important information from following links:

Hi.... Yesterday I received a giveaway items from the Sun and it contains the most exiting item "Sun SPOT". It is a technology from the Sun Lab. Sun SPOT (Sun Small Programmable Object Technology) is really a cool technology to work on. The SPOT is a kind of Wireless Sensor Network technology. It is really a small device so you can not have any OS on it but it contains the Java Virtual Machine(JVM) directly on the hardware. It is the best example of Java's "Run Anywhere" paradigm. The Sun SPOT is currently in version 3.0 beta. The Sun SPOT kit contains two free range SPOT units, one base station, connecting cables and software disk. You can find a lot of information on http://www.sunspotworld.com/ Have a look and have fun!!!
