[Basic] Language Vs Locale There has always been confusion between language and locale. Language : It's a system of gestures, sounds, symbols, or words used for communication i.e. French, English, Chinese etc... Locale : Definition of language and country settings for a system. This would include time, date, currency, special characters, numbers. It general has the following formation : language_country[.codeset][@modifier] Examples * en_IE (English_Ireland) :: Also known as Irish locale.
