Jugday@Porto Alegre
Last Saturday was done the jugday at Senac University in Porto Alegre. This was a event organized by the rsjug (the java's local user group), and during all day long. Around 70 people attend some tech-talks about java and related technologies.
I have a "time slot" to done a tech-talk called "High Productivity and Performance Developing Java Apps on OpenSolaris" in the name of group. I tried to explain some important concepts like ZFS, DTrace, Zones, IPS and Device Driver Manager that are present in the OpenSolaris (2008.05), but always linked with java and how this features can facility the work. Around 13 or 15 people attend my talk and I guess they liked, because in the end of talk everybody has questions and some guys said "ok, I will try installed in my computer"
In the finally of event I distributed some gifts of Sun and OpenSolaris (pens, key-rings and so on) with the organization.
It was a nice Saturday, a little be cold in fact, but here is the south of Brazil
