Folks that use NetBeans to develop Java EE 5 projects may have noticed something a bit unusual, if they started to dig into their project's physical layout on disk: there are two build directories. There is one that is used when the project is built to deploy "stand-alone" and the other is used when the project is built for inclusion in a EAR. While this has been "the way it is" for sometime, I have been testing whether we really need to have two build directories or whether one will be enough. This simplification will make it much easier to extend the current directory deployment feature of the SJSAS/GF plugin to handle Enterprise Application projects. (We currently only support directory deployment of web application projects from NetBeans). I have started a wiki page that covers the testing that I have done so far. Take a look at it and see if you have a use-case that might be effected by this change. (2007-06-09 21:51:37.0) Permalink |
