Apparently the blogging bug has bitten the folks here at Sun. Hoffie and I put the server out a few weeks ago, and Monday Schwartz sent mail regarding blogging to the Sun community. Holy moly. I think there's a new account created every minute right now (ok, maybe every 5 minutes). Thanks to Pat Chanezon for making an app to do this automagically - otherwise I'd be dead meat.

Of course, we've had our issues - and since the idea of blogging is new to many folks at Sun it may take a few days/weeks to get the hang of it. If you find a blog here that appears dead, wait a few days and you may be surprised.

I just sent mail out about 20 minutes ago asking if I should prune the dead blogs, and in that 20 minutes, I had 3 people come to my office, and saw at least 5 postings to "dead" blogs... Talk about motivation!

Most interesting have been the discussions about look and feel issues - there are some rather strong beliefs about best presentation to provide consistency and flexibility. It's fun to see the corporate types (Martin Hardee and friends) have discussions with the Open Source/Open Blogging folks like Tim Bray, Simon Phipps and the like.
