I don't know what it is about BMW. They seem to make some of the most beautiful cars in the world, and then they turn out some real ugly ones. The strange thing is they have a car right now with both characteristics at once.

The 645i coupe is a pretty car from the front, and just not so pretty from behind. I saw one in the parking lot at Home Depot (??) and wow, just not a good thing. Then they proceeded to follow me for a while and the front of the car is quite nice.

And then BMW comes out with the All New M5. Oh baby. Come to poppa. 500 HP. Paddle shifters. V10 engine. Whoops, I'm drooling. I'm not likely to see one of these in my lifetime, but dang, I'd sure have fun driving it...

Comments:

Bangle is the reason BMW design is down the toilet right now. The new 3 series coupe is another backwards design step from the older model. An M5 is a nice car so long as you can afford the depreciation. After the warranty runs out this car is going to depreciate off a cliff face. Look at its predecessor for an example (and that is a wonderful car with hardly any electronics to go wrong in comparison). I actually prefer the looks of the 6 series - but again depreciation is nasty. Best of the current BMWs would be a 3 series saloon with the 335 engine - there is also a diesel varient in Europe which blows the socks off most other cars on the road (a DMS remap helps it keep up with a new M5 too),
