So I'm sitting here on my telecommute day, and instead of doing my real work, I decide to check out this whole buzz about podcasting. A couple of google searches and I end up at iPodder. I read through the features and a few other things, first off it seems like its really just some form of on-demand internet broadcasting who'e glomming on to the whole iPod buzz. But whatever. I'm really interested in listing to one of these suckers.
Checking out some aggregation links on iPodder I find a link to the latest 100 podcasts site, and start to scan the list. Unfortunately there is very little to go on, more or less a podcast title. At any rate, I see one called "Say Yum 2005-03-29 - Soup Buzz". And for whatever reason I kind of thought it may have been some form of "The Soup" on the E Channel, which can be mildly amuzing.
Boy was I wrong. Its anything but the soup. Apparently just a ma and pa team, ok not as old as that sounds, but just a married couple talking while they make some soup in the kitchen. The whole thing is pretty amateurish, harkens of college radio DJ's or even that SNL skit with Jimmy Fallon. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But even so, I think it has inspired me. Anyone who know me knows that I don't care about looking like a dork. So that's not a problem. However, for one I would probably have to convince my wife to join in the mayhem. And then I would have to think of some angle. And I think I have one.
I think what I would probably do is provide a commentary as I watch one of the few
"reality" shows I got hooked on. Although right now only really watch Survivor and The Amazing Race.
Hmm, if there were some way I could just get the East Coast feed of the show, then
I could even make it available the same night, for all those fans to play as they simultaneously watch themselves. Ya now we're talking!
