and software system for the deployment of BI infrastructure.
Sun Business
Intelligence Solution for Web Infrastructure brings together Sun’s Open
Networks Systems with Infobright, the
open source data warehousing company, and Pentaho, the
commercial open source alternative for business intelligence (BI).
Depending on your data
requirements, user traffic, and workload, the solution provides users with
server options and storage. Additionally, it offers the flexibility to either
separate compute and storage nodes, or separate data warehousing and BI
functions onto separate compute nodes.
At the basic level the solution is comprised
of the Sun Fire™ X4275 Server
which combines both compute and storage capabilities. For higher data
requirements users can choose either the Sun Fire™ X2270 Server or Sun Fire™ X4170 Server.
Storage is provided by Sun Storage
7310 Unified Storage System and includes Infobright’s column-oriented analytic database integrated with
Sun's MySQL. Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition will address the spectrum of
end-user BI needs for interactive reporting, analysis and dashboards, along
with data integration capabilities.
