Eclipse Does Glassfish

I wrote on Tuesday about the Derby plug-in for NetBeans and about how it broke down a wall that to some observers seemed to divide two open source communities from each other. Well, today a Glassfish plug-in for Eclipse is available (Alexis has a photo) and I hear another dividing wall tumbling.

Of course, there are those who want to maintain the appearance of conflict here, but the truth is that the world needs a single IDE as much as it needs a single operating system or a single software license. Maintaining choice is the lifeblood of open source and I'm delighted to see both NetBeans and Eclipse gaining support for software that had previously been positioned as partisan.
