Wise posting from Mark, who is at pains to point out the OOXML/ODF debacle is not about opposing Microsoft, it is about positively promoting a single, transparently-created standard. We all win when that happens and lose when it fails (think VML).

Interesting developments in China. The people making comments against OOXML here are widely respected in the Chinese technical arena. China is certainly a place I would expect to benefit from a converged, single standard.

The news? Google is now shipping StarOffice for Windows as part of Google Pack. Late? Well, we're experimenting with doing first, talking later - the way Google tends to, in fact.
