"The Internet is full of bullies, not predators" - This looks like a great way to do something practical to protect young people on the web. If you're in the UK and hate bullies, make sure you take a look. - Free Our Bills!
Join this UK campaign to drag Parliament into the 21st century. - French Net black-out against "graduated response"
The emergence of these toxic laws is like triffids blooming. We need to act again in support of French internet users. - Also, they say you should be flossing more
Naturally we have nothing to fear from those who say they will do no evil. Especially if we have nothing to hide. - Installing Debian on a Cobalt Qube 3
I need to give this a try one weekend, it's high time I got that Qube 3 working. Unless, of course, there are some instructions somewhere for running OpenSolaris on it? (Thanks to Martin for the pointer) - Harald Welte's blog - MS Sues TomTom over FAT patents
"MS ... claim that this lawsuit has no relation whatsoever to Linux, and they're only targeting TomTom's specific implementation of Linux. I have actually reviewed the TomTom kernel sources a number of times during the last couple of years as part of gpl-compliance reviews. I can tell you, there is nothing "TomTom specific" in their FAT FS code." - "No true Scotsman" argument
I was shown this after a message on a mailing list that told someone they should be ashamed of themselves in a "no true community member would ask such a question" way. Turns out that construct is a genetic marker for self-delusion. Who knew. - Blair shocked by Gaza destruction
Rather surprising that this is his first visit - he's been Middle Easy Envoy for two years.

I've done the Qube3 hack a couple of times before (years ago)... definitely fun, but limited. It's not that power efficient; you'd be better off putting your time and $$$ into a lower-power newer PC that can run OpenSolaris + ZFS.
You won't ever be able to put OpenSolaris on the Qube since you'd need to have a custom ROM capable of booting OpenSolaris. It's not a standard PC BIOS capable of booting just any OS.
