Whether they consciously did or not, there's no denying the songs are blood relatives. - Coldplay respond to Joe Satriani
"If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental" - looks like Coldplay haven't looked at that YouTube video yet. This response isn't going to cut it, I'm sure. - 700+ man pages added for OpenSolaris 2008.11
Excellent news - IEEE and The Open Group have both agreed that the "real" documentation for UNIX, the man pages, can be included in an open source operating system for the first time - OpenSolaris 2008.11 - IWF statement regarding Wikipedia webpage
"Oh yes, I suppose this encyclopedia article about a controversy in the 1970s is in fact legitimate. Sorry, all we could see was what we thought might be kiddy porn despite it being a small illustration to a huge and socially useful article." I admit I am a little surprised how fast they backed down - unusual in this age of legalistic jihads/disaster-capitalism attitudes.

Coldplay vs. Satriani reminds me of the "My Sweet Lord"/"He's so fine" plagiarism suit of yesteryear. The verdict there was George Harrison was guilty of "subconscious plagiarism." I would say that Mr. Martin and co would at least fall into that category.
