Simon - I'm sorry to see you comment this way about the vote in Portugal. As for ODF getting clean passage - lots of things go through JTC-1 unopposed, that is not a sign of their being good or bad standards. Just that they were unopposed, and many times because there are just so few entities that are interested in a given spec. The heavily-charged industry competitive environment surrounding Open XML is the real reason for all the sudden interest in JTC-1 and this particular standard. In fact, in many cases (Italy for example) ODF supporters made rules changes at the last minute in order to make sure that Open XML does not get the same treatment as ODF - in fact, a much higher bar has been set. Jason, I noticed you didn't address the dirty tricks played by Microsoft in Portugal. You do understand that this damages the credibility of anyone involved in this nasty game for a long, long time?
