A VR immersive interface may be part of the future of computing but I've been a SL sceptic from the first. Seems others are catching the scepticism too.

More proof that the old 20th century model of charging for access to the software is fatally flawed in the 21st century. Microsoft brands all customers thieves until proven innocent. When a failure like this inevitably happens, every customer suffers.

A load of lawyers who should know better are having a fair-use food fight.

Simon,
"Might someone explain ANY redeeming quality of software bearing a 'Windows Genuine Advantage' (WGA) indication with ever changing EULA(S)?"
When did SPYING on clientèle activities become acceptable business practice or advertised ADVANTAGE?
(Hint: READ AND COMPREHEND PRODUCT(S) EULA!)

My point was about your steady stream of anti-American remarks, not just one link to one anti-war on drugs article. Maybe you're not as bright as you think you are.
Two questions. Why did you close comments after engaging in name-calling? And do you call all Sun customers "Rednecks"? You should deal with your own thin skin instead of challenge others to think just like you do.

BTW, is Sun still actively seeking government contracts? Are Sun products and services used in the War on Drugs you so despise? I'm sure my senators and congressman could help to have Sun disqualified from bids if that revenue stream keeps you from sleeping at night, Mr Phipps. Keep biting the hand that feeds you.

Redneck: I challenge you to find any anti-american comments here. My comments are about issues, and not nationalities, and reflect my progressive politics. Being a fan of the US I read a lot of US media so have a lot of US links and usually I leave their headlines intact; my comment follows, if any, although often there is just a quotation. I apologise if that is confusing for you; I suggest you switch from my blog to Fox News or something.
Your reaction is exactly the kind that makes many of my (US) friends despair, though. You clearly equate "War on Drugs" with "America"; probably "War on Terror" as well, tolerating no criticism of either. You are unable to distinguish between the great traditions of liberty that your country stands for and those deeply flawed and widely criticised policies. That's sad and makes me fear for the greatness of America since you're neither the first nor will be the last I have met with this attitude.
And your attempt to intimidate me is shameful and will get you nowhere. I assume you try that on everyone who holds views you disagree with. All in all then, "Redneck" fits your approach just fine, and unless you'd care to drop the anonymity so I can call you by name that's the way I'll refer to you, since it would be wrong to refer to you by your chosen alias.

I'm going to stick with this pseudonym since it annoys you so much. Does "progressive" mean being intolerant of and nasty with others with whom you disagree? If so, it suits you quite well.
'You clearly equate "War on Drugs" with "America"'
That's a strawman -- a logical fallacy. I asked why every single time you link to an article about America it's to a negative one. I asked if there's anything about our country you like. Your response is to lash out with a term of derision typically thrown around by intolerant sorts, which in its own way answers my original questions. Doesn't it.

Only about America in your eyes. You're associating America with the issues. I've explained my position, and you're now trolling so that's the end of the conversation. Thanks.

You have remember this is Simon's blog and has nothing related to Sun.
Remember to read the following statement attached to this blog:
"Remember that this is all written by Simon and not by Sun..."
Maybe, this should be in more larger and bold font.
