Rumours that Nokia may understand open source are greatly exaggerated if these comments reflect the company's actual position. DRM? SIM locks? What needs to change is the mobile industry, not open source.

Competition is great for consumers when you get options like Amazon vs iTunes. Also I would check out Napster's MP3 service to see what deals they offer now (it's non-DRM too).
As for Nokia, I know they have a very strong Linux group I've worked with personally - I think the delivery of the message (and some of the message) was just off in this case. Unfortunately their best Linux and OSS people are not on the phone side of the business ;-)
