The article regarding patents gives reason for optimism...I won't be holding my breath though

It'd be interesting to hear what's Sun's position on this:

But I'm especially concerned about the threat of Microsoft's Midori and the prospects of a FOSS alternative.
I believe FOSS has to be on top of this new form of competition trying to lock in grid computing.
How/Where/When should we start a relevant discussion ?
