Does the fact this doesn't surprise me in the slightest make me jaded and cynical? - Perspectives : Firefox Extension
This looks like a very smart solution to the self-signed certificate problem for web browsers. It is a much better compromise than the mess Mozilla has made in Firefox 3 and leads to fewer false alerts. As a consequence it is much less likely to desensitise users so that real security issues get ignored. I hope something like this becomes the default in Firefox. - Sun open-sources mobile Java UI toolkit
The gradual process of getting all of the Java platform open source gradually moves on. - "Security is good, right?"
Why context is everything. - JavaScript standards wrangle swings Microsoft's way
I don't think we'd expect anything else from ECMA, would we? - Posted manually today, delicious has sadly been broken all week & Yahoo don't support this feature. Anyone suggest an alternative solution that doesn't involve control of a server?

Hello Simon,
Following your short notice on Perspectives, I've tried to install the extension and faced a failure (in my native langage; don't be upset, Firefox by default will not speak French p-)) :
« Perspectives » n'a pas pu être installé car celui-ci n'est pas compatible avec votre type de version de Firefox (SunOS_x86-sunc). Veuillez contacter l'auteur de l'extension à propos de ce problème".
Perspectives cannot be installed because the extension is not compatible with your Firefox version (SunOS_x86-sunc -> the version shipped with svn_95). Please contact the author of the extension ...

I ported and built Perspectives for FF3.0.1 on OpenSolaris. See my blog entry for details:
