Except that this is an absolute lie. This is not "stealing" as the guy with the big bucks says. This is copyright infringement. Not the same thing. Morally or legally. It's still bad. But the media industry wants to have this classified as a theft when it's NOT.
Rather than adapt their business models for the new world, they are (as they always have been) trying to prevent change from happening. They need to learn, adapt, maybe disappear and be replaced by something else.
Artists NEED to live from their art. The media industry doesn't, itself need to exist in the way it is and has been for the last several decades. Time for them to evolve or join the Dodo and be replaced. But we need to STOP propagating their lies like the one above.
