Monday Jul 02, 2007
Here are a few updates on Web Server 7.0 to pass on:
- Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 Update 1 (with our brand new release nomenclature - Service Pack releases evolved into Update releases) is now available. More details captured here in Sriram's blog entry and Sun Developer web site for Web Server.
- Rakesh's blog titled Mysql with PHP on Sun Java System Web Server 7.x.
- From PHP to ShellCGI/Perl to latest & greatest Java/JSP/JSPs, Drupal CMS, etc. users trying out different things with Web Server 7.0 - check out Web Server forum.
- ServerWatch continues to rave about Web Server in their more recent comparisons of HTTP servers. Here's a Comparison with Lighttpd. See Also other related reviews: comparison with ServerTec Internet Server and comparision with Apache HTTPd . Please note there is an error with one of their check marks (or lack there of) against Web Server - Own API. This should have been checked because, Sun Web Server, which comes from the Netscape Enteprise Server lineage, supports NSAPI.
