Open Solaris Web Stack released

With the launch of Solaris Express Developer Edition (SXDE 01/08), we now have an integrated a stack of popular open source web tier technologies, including Apache HTTPd, PHP, MySQL, Squid proxy etc. 

As the picture below shows, there is a whole bunch of web stuff you can try and experience in SXDE 01/08. For example, you can deploy popular PHP/MySql based MediaWiki collaboration tool or the WordPress blogging tool on the Web Stack in minutes. Likewise Ruby On Rails based apps.

By the way, the stack is being built in open source on Open Solaris - http://opensolaris.org/os/project/webstack/.
