A person should never make an important decision alone. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
The moment of making an important decision comes to everyone. Some people may be scared to make a decision on their own because they are scared of making a wrong one. Others prefer to do it on their own, having strong confidence and courage. In my case, I prefer to determine an important decision on my own, because I can do what I truly want to do. Also, deciding alone may enable me to feel the pleasure from achievement, and self-examination from the mistakes I make.
Firstly, you can deliberately ponder your thoughts on making a decision, which enables you to make the right decision for you. Whenever you think about something important, putting people beside you for advice and help could be a disadvantage. People butting in your thoughts and interrupting them keeps you from making a right conclusion that suits you. Since everyone’s concept of one object could be different from what others think, it could be a drawback to gather people around for a critical decision. For example, talking and discussing about my thoughts with others when I had to buy an MP3 player was a bad move to make for me. I listened to my friends’ and internet user’s reviews of various MP3 players that were in my choice, and made too clumsy a decision. I was not satisfied with what I bought, and regretted it quite a bit. Thus, making a decision alone can enable you to know what best suits you and be satisfied with it, because it is your responsibility.
Secondly, by making a good decision alone, you can feel pleasure. Once you achieve something on your own, you feel happiness from it, while you can’t when someone else helped you with it. Moreover, though you fail and make a mistake, you can gain valuable experience from it. Wrong decisions can discourage one’s heart, but it could be an advantage for sometime in the future, when you have to make another important decision. For instance, for me again, I have walked a long road to achieve what I have today. I am satisfied with everything that I have. Feeling joy when I know I’ve made a right decision, and using the mistakes that I’ve made as learning experiences, I finally have found true happiness.
In conclusion, I disagree that a person should never make an important decision alone. It enables one to find what best suits him or her. Also, you can feel pleasure and get valuable experience from it. On the whole, self-determination and handling the problems alone would be a better choice when choosing something, enhancing one’s wellbeing.
