Today, Nov 20, 2007, my first presentation as Sun Campus Ambassador was successfully done. From my formal preparation(it is the date when I had the idea to write Road to Netbeans), It is about 20 days. Currently I am really tired but still excited. I can not imaging that my first presentation is so good that I wanna mark myself 98/100. It's A. OK, let us be back to the presentation.

(What do you think? Netbeans and JavME)

The presentation today is my first presentation, it is also the first one in series of Sun Tech Talk in University of Lethbridge. The topic today is NetBeans 6.0 and Visual Mobile Applications. I tried to show how we can use Netbeans to develop JavaME application for cell phones. We got 31 audience there. Besides the students in our university, there are some engineers coming from City of Lethbridge. So this presentation is really a community's technological event, as I thought.

(Angela: Loooong travel from Edmonton to Lethbridge)

We started our presentation 5 minutes later because there is some audiences who had a classes ended later. Firstly two Video Clips were showed. One of them is about dreaming phone, the other is about java.net.  What about your dreaming phone? Java is everywhere, Java is here!!

After the clips, I start my presentation from introduction of Sun Tech Talk, introduction of SCA, introduction of my Account Manager(Angela) etc.. And then, Angela helped me to do some introduction of Free online courses and trainning opportunity.  After that we went through the agenda of the presentation. After I made some introduction of Netbeans6 and JavaME, CLDC&MIDP, I made 2 demos with Netbeans. In these two Demos, one is how we use VMD to drag-and-drop to develop a JavaME application, the other is coding for a JavaME application. The audiences can do some comparasion. And also I use the project configuration management to make the application which could run on different kinds of cell phone emulators(I choose Moto A910). From the response of audiences, we can get the information that they like VMD more than code itself. Maybe because some of them are not familiar with JAVA. I think I'll consider this point in the next presentation.

 (It's the Demo)

After the demonstration, I introduced Lethbridge Sun Tech User Group, and SAI free course, and also mentioned something about Sun certification Exam and the resources on line for students. They were interested in the free course, and They asked me for some information card for SAI course.(BTW, this information card is a good idea. It can be more easy to distribute to the audiences who are very interested in the information. Thanks, Jennifer and Angela.)

(What we do ?? Join us !!)

Oh I almost forget. Angela brought me some Free Software, which played as a gift if there was somebody can give me a response to my question. I have to say, the effect seemed wonderful. You guys can try it. Angela also provided the audience Sun Monitors as surprise gifts. hehe

(volunteer for this presentation: Kelly)

After the presentation, Angela and my classmate, Kelly helped me to gether the information sheets,  And some audiences talked with me. They told me they were interested in the topic, and they wanna get some sort of knowledge for the other topics, such as web application, desktop application etc.. Ronald  and ****(coming from Sun Canada, Calgary, sorry I did not get your name) gave me some valuable suggestion and comments. Thanks!

The whole presentation was about 1 hour. It's really RUSH HOUR. Fortunately, we did it. Why I say we did not I did? I have to show my appreciation to all of you. Yes, you!
